Once upon a time I wanted an iPhone really badly during the Steve Jobs era and after that I have many chances of getting it I didn't. My parents offered to buy me a few times which I declined.
Took more than 16 generations of iPhone before I got one 🤣 And even now that it's affordable for me, I still thought long and hard before deciding.
Partly I think it's the side-effect of being in the personal finance sphere. I still spend but I didn't feel the need to upgrade every aspect of my life thingy.
Launching my underwater submarine
How much did it cost me
The iPhone 16 cost me RM3,924.19 with 20,000 points (equivalent to RM200).
Both the elago phone cover with magnet and elago tempered glass cost me RM89.79 and RM54.19 respectively.
This magnetic foldable stand cost me RM39.60.
This beings me to a total of RM4,107.77.
Tho I actually wanted a Samsung S24 but it's pricier LOLOLOL
Is it worth it?
For the camera upgrade, yes.
I also have tons of camera gadgets so it's great not to have to carry so many things. I don't plan to bring these in my upcoming year end trip.
With the new phone also comes renewed resolution for my workouts 🤣 With the price I paid, it felt as if I've renewed a gym membership. But really, workout videos and almost all vids look more crisp on an iphone.
The furbaby photos are nicer too 🥺
So far I'm loving Siri, the custom action feature, and copy-paste edits are cool. Obviously not having a cracked screen to binge-watch stuff is better too. Can't wait to learn more about what I can do with the phone. What are some other cool tricks I should know?
In contrast, I don't get the camera button nor the change-your-icon-colors-to-your-vibe thing. I also don't like how free for use apps are now paid 😒 Can someone please recommend a free photo collage ios app?
It'll probably be awhile for me to learn all about my phone.
Fingers crossed this one will last me a few years lest some system update messes things LOL
Random topic before I end this post. I wanted to show you an almost similar model of my dad's handphone in the 90s. Somehow I felt nostalgia and recalled we had something like this.
