Money Plans for the remaining of 2024

It's a few weeks before 2025 rolls in, how time flies!

I'm kancheong (nervous) that I wouldn't be able to hit my personal finance goals for the year wei 😩 So many things, so little time!

While I think I've done enough for the year, there were some things that I want to check out before the year ends.

Table of Content

Getting right to them!

#1 Contribute to my PRS

I always remind myself to do this before the year ends so I can be entitled for the income tax rebate. This year I delay on purpose to see how the market is performing.

I do plan to add on more to Public Mutual. The performances of my past years contributions have been amazing and I hope the company continue their performances.

Make this girl a happy investor okay 😌

Do you contribute to PRS? What's your recommended broker?

#2 Getting a new phone

This wasn't a plan expense. I was hoping my phone will survive for another year or two at least! Until I broke my camera and I'm like no can do

Kinda sucks because the phone is still working well otherwise.

Somehow I wanted something different and decided to go for an iPhone. It's just that over the years when I replace a phone I have a habit of using a different brand just so that if one goes through an update, I have a spare that isn't compromised. Lesson learnt. Understandably updates are usually rolled out for selected models at a time but just in case scenario really.

#3 Funding my overseas trip

I've a trip booked for the year end. I'm hoping to stick to a strict budget since the location I'm heading to isn't a shopping haven kind.

The plan is just to chill, unwind and eat all the good food! 😋

#4 Contribute to my SGX investments

I mention a lot in my IG that one of my plans is to aggressively grow my SGX portfolio to achieve my targeted ROIs 💪🏻

#5 Asset Relocation

Part of my 2024 plans is to reduce the number of accounts I have because OMG do I register for so many!

The other is to focus on maxing out my ROIs. This means that any investments that aren't performing too well or if I have a change of heart, I don't want to have my monies in them anymore.

One is the Stashaway Invest I put in when robo advisor was the hot buzz word. I invested in the 36% risk one. For the third year of investing, I don't think it's performing or at least my other options are giving better returns. I guess I also like when I get definite returns ie. like getting paid interest or dividends.

The other one is a PRS that is in the red. You prolly heard me bringing it up on my IG stories before. Unfortunately with PRS, there are conditions and fees involved. I need to calculate whether it's much worth it to allocate it elsewhere. I'm still considering on this!

#6 Paid Course for Upskilling

There are a few course I've been meaning to learn from. Those combined will cost me a few thousand ringgit but I am hoping to get ROI from them.

#7 CNY Ang Pows Sinking Funds

Yeaps, I think I should put aside monies for parents' ang pows already! Okay, this I procrastinated a bit too much. I'm not very diligent with Sinking Funds. I usually fund whatever (including investing) with my current month's pay.

So this is a personal reminder to set aside the monies because CNY is on the 29th January 2025! 💆🏻‍♀️

This said, here are my

#8 what NOT to do

Mainly falling into the temptation of branded goods and gold shopping. The temptations are tempting oh my goodness!

I'm reminding myself that those are only holding back my financial goals. Even this blog costs me money to build.

Concluding this post

I think I have quite a number of plans which involved a lot of monies.

Contemplating on some because unless I received bonus, I'm probably over-spending slash over-budgeting for the quarter already! So fingers crossed!

What are YOUR money plans for the rest of 2024?
